  1. I’m so touched to see a monarch. Wherever you live, their presence is a well-needed sign of their existence. I live in Delaware (USA), and seen only two the entire summer. My hopes are that the abundance of milkweed in my gardens will bring them now for their end of the summer ritual.

    • We have a lot of milkweed and other butterfly favorites in our garden here in Minneapolis, so I’m fortunate enough to see a lot of monarchs. There’s an annual monarch festival at a nearby urban lake, too (Lake Nokomis).

      On another note, the number of tiger swallowtails seems to be way up this year in particular—I thought they had mostly disappeared going by the last few years.
