Vorticular Chroma

These four abstract macros depicting thin-film interference were selected from thousands I’ve taken over the past few years. Though I enjoy taking pictures of flowers, wildlife and the outdoors, I find setting up and capturing abstract images with a dSLR even more enjoyable—the hours go by in what seems like minutes.

One of the main reasons I started puncta lucis was to share these kinds of photos. With a growing and massive collection, I could post for years without exhausting my supply.

I hope you enjoy these four, and many more to come.
