Weekly Photo Challenge: Let There Be Light | Lake Superior Sunrise

Gallery with audio track

I was excited to see that The Daily Post’s weekly challenge for November 29th, 2013, was titled Let There Be Light, as it happened that I had taken relevant photos that very morning.

On the same day as the challenge, I awoke early on the north shore of Lake Superior in Northern Minnesota to see a beautiful sunrise and some fog rolling in. My fingers froze in the cold wind coming off the lake while working my camera’s controls and changing lenses, but I couldn’t stop until the sun was up and the spectacle was over. Ice was starting to form on the rocks and vegetation as the surf threw up an icy spray.

I recorded some audio, too, and have provided a player below so you can listen while viewing the gallery.
